Fear

“Fear is just a reason to try harder.” -Lindsay Sills. This is true but sometimes fear is uncontrollable and can have a major impact on someone’s life. Fear can have an impact on people’s life whether it is a small fear such as spiders or clowns or a big fear like being kidnapped or afraid of people in general. Fear can affect peoples lives by causing paranoia or anxiety issues.
Fear can cause paranoia in someone’s life by them being afraid of something so much it changes them as a person. For example, if a woman was kidnapped and not rescued until six months later, she may become paranoid of it happening agin. This could cause her to lock down her house and “push away” her loved ones, majorly affecting her life. In addition, even though the paranoia may be based on something less serious, like a fear of the dark, it is still, nonetheless, real to the fearful. If a six year old boy in first grade is afraid of the dark, he may not get any sleep at night, affecting his next day at school. Paranoia, or always being afraid, can affect someone’s life whether it is in a big or small situation.
Fear can cause anxiety issues because fear can be majorly stressful, almost to the point of health issues. For example, if a girl who has anxiety attacks forgets to tell her best friend happy birthday, she may become afraid her best friend won’t like her anymore and have an attack. People with anxiety issues usually think of the worst thing that could happen and become majorly afraid of the entire situation. In addition, if a woman receives a call that a loved one has passed away, she may have an emotional breakdown by fear of change to her life. Anxiety is an emotional breakdown of fear.
Therefore, fear can affect people’s lives by causing major emotional stress that can be endangering health and if not treated can lead to extreme cases of depression.
